The documentary's title translates as "to be and to have", the two auxiliary verbs in the French language. It is about a primary school in the commune of Saint-Étienne-sur-Usson, Puy-de-Dôme, France, the population of which is just over 200. The school has one small class of mixed ages (from four to twelve years), with a dedicated teacher, Georges Lopez, who shows patience and respect for the children as we follow their story through a single school year.
A group of children are encouraged to play in a park by two men. Some play a skipping game. One of the other children refuses and eventually runs away. Another child is fascinated by the camera and stares at it throughout, even when encouraged by one of the men to play. IN the background, traffic passes and pedestrians stroll past behind a railing on an upper level. The children wear sunhats, indicating the weather is very sunny.

In 2022, I met Beatrice Baldacci. I was going through a period of pain and great change. I saw others perceiving her existence so differently than I did. I delved deeper with "The Den" and from there, I reached the point of no return. That evening in early July three years ago, I realized that the emotion I felt, and that I wanted to protect at all costs, was my own sadness. A sadness I kept finding in others and that had consumed me, to the point of making me lose who I was. I denied Ginevra's existence for years. I wanted only Axel to assert himself. I didn't make this short film to seek answers, but to put together the pieces of my life.
