Ulrike Marie Meinhof: Letter to Her Daughter

Overview

Filmmaker Timon Koulmasis, a 33-year-old filmmaker, wanted to understand why his childhood friend's mother became a terrorist and how she, herself an orphan who never recovered from her loss, abandoned her daughters. Ulrike Marie Meinhof is an intimate portrait of a woman whose name became taboo in her family for twenty-five years. The film consists of amateur footage, texts written by the journalist, her public and television appearances, and, above all, testimonies from her loved ones, punctuated with archival documents, to better reveal the profound disconnect between the woman and the superficial image of her portrayed by her era. She is neither the bloodthirsty caricature denounced by the media nor the “martyr” described by some activists.

Israel's Reel Extremism

Aug 7, 2024

An examination of Israel and its society after many months of war, seen initially through the prism of viral social media posts - and exclusive interviews with the soldiers behind them. These posts, some shared millions of times, show soldiers humiliating bound Palestinians, ransacking their homes, joking as they detonate schools and whole districts, and laughing as they launch high explosive ordnance into densely-packed areas. The award-winning team behind this Basement Films production traveled to Israel to interview some of these soldiers, who proudly defended themselves and their videos, some expressing callous disregard for Palestinians in Gaza. Through additional interviews with Israeli radical groups, politicians, and media figures, the film reveals Israeli Jewish society in the aftermath of October 7th, gripped by a vengeance and hate that puts into question any possibility for peace.

David Icke: Secrets of the Matrix

Oct 5, 2004

Since 1990 David Icke has been on an amazing journey of self and collective discovery to establish the real power behind apparently "random" world events like 9/11 and the "war on terrorism". Here he reveals that a network of interbreeding bloodlines manipulating through their web of interconnecting secret societies have been pursuing an agenda for thousands of years to impose a globally centralized fascist state with total control and surveillance of the population. The attacks of September 11th - not the work of "bin Laden" - and the subsequent "war on terrorism" are a means through which this is designed to be achieved. Over more than six hours and with hundreds of illustrations, David Icke also reveals the illusion that is life in this "physical" reality. How is the "world" a provable illusion - just a lucid dream? How do we create it and how can we change the dream to one that we would like to experience?

Gray State: The Rise

Jan 21, 2015

A documentary about America’s current militarized police state, the liberal use of deadly force against unarmed citizens, and a possible pending economic collapse. The world reels with the turmoil of war, geological disaster, and economic collapse, while Americans continue to submerge themselves in illusions of safety and immunity. While rights are sold for security, the federal government, swollen with power, begins a systematic takeover of liberty in order to bring about a New World Order. Fear-mongering, terrorism, police state, martial law, war, arrest, internment, hunger, oppression, violence, resistance. Neighbor is turned against neighbor as the value of the dollar plunges to zero, food supplies are depleted, and everyone becomes a terror suspect. There are arrests. Disappearances. Bio attacks. Public executions of those even suspected of dissent. Even rumors of concentration camps on American soil. The GRAY STATE is here. It always was. By consent or conquest.
