Overview

Dev is a high school drop out from and a worthless village lad. He is hell bent on getting married. But the girl he wants to marry rejects him stating that he doesn't have college education. Dev, who is clever and street-smart decides to go to Kolkata for further education. While travelling in the train, he bashes up a bunch of rowdies teasing college girls. At the college in Kolkata, he meets Riya (and falls in love with her. A city gangster, Rudra,is in love with her and blackmails her to marry him. He beats anyone moving closely with Riya. Meanwhile, henchmen of the dreaded chieftain Dubai Keshto, from Dubai, are looking for Dev in the city.

Mahapurush O Kapurush is a 2013 Indian Bengali language comedy drama film directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay.The story encompasses two distinctly different tracks that run parallel to each other. As a thief breaks into a middle class apartment of a young couple at one end of the city, a Himalaya returned Guru settles for a religious discourse at a business magnets bungalow the same night. As Pada , the thief faces a stiff situation, Swad Gajananda Swami by the virtue of his magical powers mesmerizes his disciples and enjoys the best of food, hospitality & other generous attention. The two incidents are too far fetched to have any connecting possibilities. But fate has other things in store. It's a question of putting up an act and sticking by it!!!

The film features the characters from Satyajit Ray's Aranyer Din Ratri, returning to the forest over thirty years later. Ashim, Sanjoy, Harinath and Aparna have grown old in this film; Shekhar has died. They set out on a journey to break off every link with civilisation for a few days. However, the trip turns sour when Ashim and Aparna's daughter, Amrita, goes missing. It transpires that she is being held for ransom by local tribespeople. Police intervene and the kidnapped girl is returned to her parents, albeit against her own wishes.
