Overview

The former waiter Ernst Held believes himself to be called higher and seeks self-realization as a poet. When he recites poems to his wife's beautician in an ambiguous situation, his wife puts him out the door. Completely destitute, the thwarted poet must therefore return to the lowlands of life and become the head in the Munich pub "Goldener Löffel".

Eloise is a precocious but lovable six-year-old girl who lives in New York's Plaza Hotel. Her caretaker "Nanny" watches over her while her mom is away. Then one day, while trying to figure out how to get invited to a fancy ball as well as how to meet a visiting prince, Eloise makes a new friend around her age! During the fight the glove is swapped and Stan triumphs only to find that Ollie has bet their fee that he would lose.

A series of stupid coincidences causes the young Munich painter Paul to convert his uncle's castle into a hotel for four weeks. But he can't complain: business is good and he has plenty of guests. For exmple, there's Theo Muller with his revue troupe. For reasons of "sound", Muller calls himself "Miller", which, of course, causes more confusion. His daughter, the beautiful Evelyn, is confused with Mabel Miller, who has come to the hotel on a mission for her filthy rich father ... namely, to estimate the worth of the castle.
