JANE NOVAK and "The Wonder Dog" Lightning in "The Lure of the Wild," a strong stirring drama of primitive emotions set in the magnificent grandeur of the great woods. A beautiful wife, a baby daughter, and yet the "Lure of the Wild" called him back.

Overview

Jim Belmont, believing his wife Agnes loves Gordon Daniels, leaves for the Canadian wilderness with his daughter Cuddles and his dog Shep. He is killed by Mike Murdock at Daniels' instigation. Shep aids and protects Cuddles, who was abandoned to the mercy of the elements by her father's death. The dog fetches the trapper Poleon Dufresne, who sends for Agnes. She is followed by Daniels. Murdock confesses his crime to Dufresne. Shep saves Agnes from attack by Daniels and herds him to a cliff, where Daniels falls to his death. Agnes and Dufresne then wed.

Churchill broadcasts news of the divorce to the North Country, and Langley and Christine can now become legally married.

Promising to return to her, Truxton boards a steamer bound for San Francisco to foil the plot and soon afterwards Lurline’s father sells her into marriage with Gus. Escaping to Truxton's steamer, Lurline sails to San Francisco where Gus abducts her forcing her to dance in his Barbary Coast saloon. Truxton raids the bar, kills Gus is killed and the lovers are reunited.
