Overview

The groundsman of the FC St. Pauli is just about to finish his work, when he suddenly finds a dead fan on the grandstand of the stadium. The ghost of the dead man haunts him and makes him realize, that the motto of the football club is more than just a stadium song: “You’ll never walk alone”.

For some time now, the residents of the placid little village of Sonnenthal talk only about one topic: Football! The ambitious mayor wants to promote the Sonnenthal team to the district league at any price because this success would also boost his own popularity. But he did not expect the resistance of the new head of school, Barbara, who is heavily annoyed by the one-sided focus. Isak stops using his kitchen and observes Folke through a hole in the ceiling instead. However, the two lonely men slowly overcome the initial post-war Norwegian-Swede distrust and become friends.
