Overview

Camilo is a 10-year-old boy who has a conscience that is too awake, serene and transcendent for his age. He lives in the midst of amusing and dangerous chaos, of a family of characters deeply affected by the tremendous impossibility of developing normally in the world, in our current society. Through their eyes we will see how each one, consciously or unconsciously, inevitably constructing their own destiny.

James, the only child of Marni the poor widow, dreams of winning a lottery worth Rp 120 million. He is angry when his mother wakes him up and orders him to find a job. Going in and out of offices and unable to find work, he daydreams in the park of taking off the gold from the National Monument. With the money, he would establish Siluman Kontraktor company with Dewi as his secretary and also his girlfriend. Then he is woken up by the police who want to inspect his identity card. Considered insane, he is admitted to a mental hospital. Here, he is always rowdy and stirs things up. Most of the film is used to exploit the craziness of the hospital. James finally escapes.

Together, they rent an apartment and begin living together, in close quarters. Sharing kisses and fond embraces. They exchange words of endearment with the naturalness of ordering a sandwich at a diner. They threaten to break up and the next moment they are all laughing together again. College days however soon come to an end and, with each having different paths to trail, separation is imminent. And consequently, their gestures, words and attitudes take on a new weight. Touching each other now takes on a new significance. Words of love are weighed down by consequences.

Dream

In the 1920s Horacio Coppola studied modern languages, photography and film, set up the first cinema club in Buenos Aires, and travelled to Italy, France, Spain and Germany, where he trained with the Bauhaus photographer Walter Peterhans. After visiting Vienna, Budapest and Prague, still hotbeds of secessionist art, Coppola returned to Berlin and made the experimental film Traum (Dream, 1933) with the theatre director Walter Auerbach, a nice short influenced by the French & German surrealists.
