Overview

Leading up to the 1996-97 playoffs, Chicago Bull's coach Phil Jackson sent an intern trainer Wally Blase to oversee the rehab assignment of superstar forward Dennis Rodman. What ensued was part "Get Him to the Greek", part "Almost Famous" and ultimately forged a lifelong bond between these two unlikely characters.

The film is hosted by broadcaster Marv Albert and former Utah Jazz coach and executive Frank Layden. The video features brief biographies of NBA personalities including Darryl Dawkins, Bill Walton, John Salley and Frank Layden, as well as footage of dolphins playing basketball, a group playing basketball while riding horses and a group playing basketball on ice skates. Kise hurts his leg and is benched, so Seirin thinks they now have their chance, but then Kaijo shows them exactly what they can do even without Kise.

However, it doesn't take long before Akashi crushes all of their hopes. It is decided that the finals will be fought between Seirin and Rakuzan. Kagami immediately enters the Zone as soon as the match starts, but it is no match for Akashi. Facing an extreme difference in ability against Rakuzan, Seirin loses their hope a number of times during the match. However, Kuroko doesn't give up, and continues to strongly fight against Akashi.
