The wall becomes a symbol of racism and hate to Buggin' Out and to other people in the neighborhood, and tensions rise.

Words are loaded with meaning. Certain ones conjure joyful memories and others remind us of less happy times. For Nenda Neururer, the word 'oachkatzlschwoaf' invokes a range of emotions. The German word is very hard to pronounce and is synonymous with the Austrian state of Tyrol where locals tease outsiders by asking them to pronounce it. Despite growing up in Tyrol, Nenda Neururer often felt like an outsider when confronted with this word. But when she moved to London she grew nostalgic for it and it became her little secret. Found in Translation is a series made as part of the In The Mix project, in partnership with BBC Studios TalentWorks, Black Creators Matter and the Barbican.

The Dalai Lama's Gift

In 1981, a Buddhist monk teaching at the University of Madison, Wisconsin, made the bold request of the Dalai Lama to come and perform a rare ritual, never before done outside of India or Tibet: the Kalachakra, among the highest of the Buddhist tantric teachings. At the beginning of the 80s, the antinuclear movement was in full expansion internationally and also in the Basque Country. In addition to the three plants that were about to be built on the coast (Lemoiz, Ea-Ispaster and Deba), a fourth was planned to be built in Arguedas. To protest against this, mobilizations were organized in Tudela. Gladys del Estal Ferreño traveled to Tudela, but did not return. In that peaceful demonstration, she was killed by the gunshot of a Civil Guard. This documentary, following the Gladys incident, tries to make a portrait of a social movement that attracted the majority of Basque society at that time.
