When Jill Jarnow won a blue Volkswagon in a design contest, and named the car Wart after the young king Arthur in T.H.White's The Sword and the Stone - it naturally wasn't long before the iconic vehicle turned up in a film. Autosong unfolds on an autobahn of the mind, a road between the formalism of highway driving and the looped flipbook experiments.

In Paris, three losers realize that ultimately all this does not change much in their lives. Deciding to take their destiny into their own hands, they open a pizza delivery and home video business. After a difficult start, their success grew as soon as they promoted themselves by stapling leaflets on the faces of the dead. Wad

Sep 25, 2003

The Dutch 'Wad' (coastal mud flats) is a strange place. At low tide, many square miles of mud flats surface between the mainland and the northern islands. The Netherlands grow and shrink with the movement of the moon. Sudden incoming tide make these flats 'sea' again, sometimes drowning hikers by surprise. The Wad does not know what to make of itself. Land, see, mud, ocean floor... Two characters (and their dog) are stranded there in that desolate place. The only dramatic elements in this comical short are the sea, the wind, the sand and a lonely sea gull. Drawn in mud and tar on wet sandpaper.
