Overview

On an island buffeted by storms, the seamen are confined with no desire to abandon the life by the sea. They spend days and nights drunk in the tavern. The young woman who serves them has one desire: to go far away. This sets the stage for a musical in the open, and will frame a story of love and adventure, reminiscent of the director's film Aoom.

The story of a virtuoso piano player who lives his entire life aboard an ocean liner. Born and raised on the ship, 1900 learned about the outside world through interactions with passengers, never setting foot on land, even for the love of his life. Donovan, Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, Mimi and Dick Farina, and others less well known also perform. Several talk musical philosophy, and there's a running commentary about the nature and appeal of folk music. The crowd looks clean cut.
