Overview

Mohammad joyfully returns to his tiny village on summer vacation from the Institute for the Blind, unaware of his widowed father's intentions to disown him in order to win the hand—and dowry—of a local woman. With the wedding swiftly approaching, Mohammad's future hangs precariously in the balance as his father struggles against his destiny, unable to see the wonder of life and love that's so clear to his son.

He drives her away, for her own good. After days of affliction, the two reunite. The story leads to an emotive conclusion, the end of his spiritual journey.

When his dad delivers the bad news that he might have to sell both the hotel and the olive grove, Tsatsiki becomes upset. However, Tsatsiki's mother has taught him to never give up. He realizes that it is up to him to save the hotel, otherwise his beloved place in Greece will be lost.
