Overview

In this film, shot in Drachhausen/Hochoza in southern Brandenburg, film students from Potsdam reinterpret Schiller's play ‘Die Jungfrau von Orleans’ (The Maid of Orleans) and set it in Lower Lusatia. Johanna, the harvest queen, campaigns for the expansion of a solar park. She is celebrated by many for this, but some are hostile towards her. A small mountain community in Canada is devastated when a school bus accident leaves more than a dozen of its children dead. A big-city lawyer arrives to help the survivors' and victims' families prepare a class-action suit, but his efforts only seem to push the townspeople further apart.
