Overview

11-year-old Jacob embarks on a mystical journey with his grandmother, Soon-hee, to guide her spirit to peace. As Soon-hee's fading mind leads her to relive her past, Jacob creates wooden guardians called "Kokdu" to help navigate the spirit world. Together, they face trials and confront the dark forces that threaten her soul, ultimately finding a path to light. Through love, memory, and unexpected allies, Jacob discovers the power of connection across time.

Filmic insert to Eisenstein's modernized, free adaptation of Ostrovskiy's 19th-century Russian stage play, "The Wise Man" ("Na vsyakogo mudretsa dovolno prostoty"). The anti-hero Glumov tries to escape exposure in the midst of acrobatics, derring-do, and farcical clowning. Several members of Eisenstein's troupe at the legendary "Proletkult" stage theatre in Moscow briefly appear in this little film.
