Overview

1870. Agnes, of the wealthy family of Villalonga, enter as a novice in a cloistered convent. He soon falls in love with James, a soldier brother of another inmate, Sister Jacinta, and is answered by it. To be together, the young man invents an excuse, but is wounded by the Carlist.

In 1858 Lourdes, France, adolescent peasant Bernadette has a vision of "a beautiful lady" in the Massabielle grotto - the townspeople assume this lady to be the Virgin Mary. Naked Desire follows these people as they try to survive together away from society, not knowing that detectives are in hot pursuit after Shinji is determined missing by his family. Akane must decide whether to stay true to her faith and remain pure, or give in to her ultimate desires like Kayoko, Rine and Shinji.
