Overview

In an old Sino-Thai community in the Southern Thailand, Sorn, an elderly man, faces a state of elusive wakefulness while becoming addicted to the mysterious attempting orgasm, This forces Rin, his wife, to deal with his delirious ramblings and strange illnesses constantly. As the story unfolds, Sorn uncovers a parallel tale of a young man consumed by past wounds and guilt, trapped in self-blame.

When he finally does decide to return home, his family and Muriel are at first shocked by his appearance, but they recover and try to make him feel comfortable and accepted. However, it's not before Howard begins to feel their actions are motivated more by pity than love, and when Arthur Wells, who was once Muriel's suitor, shows up one day and is greeted warmly and intimately by Muriel, Howard starts to think that his suspicions are justified.

And when Marjetka a few days after her 30th birthday, full of doubts about this way of life, which is not to her liking, she realizes that Maks is not only an irreversible bohemian, but also a slacker and sarcastic, she decides to change her life.
