Overview

During a summer in a french southern village, two girls meet : Laure sells antique linen while Ophélie runs an art gallery. Although they have nothing in common, they grow closer as they talk to each other and their opposing characters become interwined.

After a run in with the army, and a couple of thieves, they, with the cooperation of the village people and the Ornithology Society, help the eggs to hatch. The photo transports us into her life. She is eight years old and is about to lose her best friend, a boy from a wealthy family who is moving to America. Back in the Netherlands, the photographer is confronted with his own constant loneliness. The photo of the girl evokes memories of his own childhood, when he still felt at home somewhere.
