They come from all walks of life and every city in the universe to San Francisco for the dream of becoming a skateboard superstar. The migration is constant and because the magazine is here it is not unusual to find a skater out there who is willing to throw down if there is a camera around. The media is somewhat responsible for sponsorship but in reality, if you are worthy of adulation, it will come to you. We titled this video "Sponsor Me!" for all those screaming kids throughout the world who want to know what it takes to become the next skateboard celebrity. In between our victories and defeat we ask ourselves "What is sponsorship?"

Featuring old skool skating footage, exclusive interviews and a blistering rock soundtrack, DOGTOWN AND Z-BOYS captures the rise of the Zephyr skateboarding team from Venice's Dogtown, a tough "locals only" beach with a legacy of outlaw surfing.
This video is laden with energy very reminiscent of the late 80's. Hell, very few vids these days have much energy to them. They all seem to be about nailing the trick - which is important - but there's also this thing called cinematography. 2nd To None has a fast pace and awesome skating. The intro montage is stunning. Filmed in the warehouse, it features the team sessioning everything from the top of a forklift to jumping gaps from one product rack to another. They pile stuff high and go wild on every surface in the place - including a few ramps. Some street footy is edited in as well. This vid is so well done, it's insane. Each rider has a part, some of which is in the warehouse, but most is out on the streets. They mix in some skits and other random stuff. There's a "Chariots of Fire" routine in which they push - in super slow-mo - doing a variety of tricks while trying to sabotage each other's runs.
40-minute documentary is nothing short of thrilling. Skateboarders Joey Flores, Brandon McCormick, Gabe Nunez, Pancho Pacheco and Franky Sandoval are filmed as they ride their boards, flying over flights of stairs and sliding down banisters the hard way. The Breezy Excursions Skate Team, BEST for short, began with area clothing designer Roque Breezy (born Santos): "We worked with a couple of skateboarders, all local riders; we're hoping to help these younger guys get bigger sponsors. Right now, they're technically amateurs, but they're riding at a pro level."
